Possui um topete amarelo somente vis\u00edvel quando a ave o eri\u00e7a em determinadas situa\u00e7\u00f5es. \u00c9 uma ave que est\u00e1 sempre descobrindo novas formas de alimento \u00c9 inset\u00edvoro, podendo devorar centenas de insetos diariamente. Mas tamb\u00e9m come frutas (como bananas, mam\u00f5es, ma\u00e7\u00e3s, laranjas, pitangas e muitas outras), ovos e at\u00e9 mesmo filhotes de outros p\u00e1ssaros, flores de jardins, minhocas, pequenas cobras, lagartos, crust\u00e1ceos, al\u00e9m de peixes e girinos de rios e lagos de pouca profundidade e inclusive pequenos roedores. Costuma comer parasitas (carrapatos) de bovinos e equinos. Apesar de ser mais comum v\u00ea-lo capturar insetos pousados em ramos, tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 comum atac\u00e1-los durante o voo. The beak is black, flat, long, resistant and slightly curved. The throat is white in color. It has a yellow topknot only visible when the bird bristles it in certain situations. It is a bird that is always discovering new forms of food. It is insectivorous, being able to devour hundreds of insects daily. But it also eats fruits (such as bananas, papayas, apples, oranges, pitangas and many others), eggs and even the young of other birds, garden flowers, earthworms, small snakes, lizards, crustaceans, as well as fish and tadpoles from rivers and shallow lakes and even small rodents. It usually eats parasites (ticks) of cattle and horses.
