Ave de h\u00e1bitos noturnos. Quando pousados durante o dia, tem o h\u00e1bito de simularem a movimenta\u00e7\u00e3o das folhas com o vento, essa caracter\u00edstica faz parte do seu mimetismo. Sua colora\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 bela e incomum para um urutau. Toda a ave \u00e9 de uma profunda colora\u00e7\u00e3o laranja-ferrugem com grandes manchas brancas ladeadas de preto. A parte inferior do ventre e seu crisso apresentam a colora\u00e7\u00e3o atenuada, sendo mais claro que a plumagem do restante do corpo. Suas r\u00eamiges s\u00e3o pretas com a borda externa na colora\u00e7\u00e3o ferrug\u00ednea. Sua cauda apresenta fino barrado preto. A \u00edris \u00e9 amarela e o seu bico \u00e9 curto, curvo e largo. Captura<\/a>\u00a0insetos em v\u00f4os repentinos a partir de um poleiro.<\/p>\n

Nocturnal bird. When perched during the day, it has the habit of simulating the movement of leaves with the wind, this characteristic is part of its mimicry. Its coloring is beautiful and unusual for a Potoo. The entire bird is a deep rust-orange color with large white patches flanked by black. The lower part of the belly and its criss have attenuated coloration, being lighter than the plumage of the rest of the body. Its remiges are black with a rusty outer edge. Its tail has a thin black bar. The iris is yellow and its beak is short, curved and broad. It catches insects in sudden flight from a perch.<\/p>\n
