O macho imaturo tem uma faixa cor de canela ao lado da garganta. Seu principal alimento \u00e9 o n\u00e9ctar, mas eles tamb\u00e9m capturam insetos bem pequenos realizando voos curtos para isso. Vive nas copas das \u00e1rvores e no subdossel, nas bordas de florestas, clareiras em florestas \u00famidas, matas secund\u00e1rias e matas de transi\u00e7\u00e3o. Tamb\u00e9m pode ser encontrado em \u00e1reas de cultura atra\u00eddo pelas flores.
