A\u00a0cauda\u00a0\u00e9 longa, com as penas centrais mais compridas do que o corpo e com as demais menores e escalonadas. Na ponta das penas centrais aparecem duas raquetes.\u00a0Possuem dieta variada, alimentando-se\u00a0de frutos,\u00a0insetos\u00a0e pequenos\u00a0vertebrados. Captura suas\u00a0presas\u00a0diretamente no solo ou pr\u00f3ximo dele. Bate as presas grandes contra galhos antes de engoli-las. N\u00e3o \u00e9 uma ave exigente em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao habitat, podendo ser encontrada em florestas tropicais, cerrados, matas ciliares, matas secas, e \u00e1reas antropizadas.
