A regi\u00e3o facial \u00e9 azul, enquanto a regi\u00e3o ao redor dos olhos se apresenta mais escura, violeta. A \u00cdris tem cor marrom.\u00a0 Comem de frutos a vertebrados. Tamb\u00e9m atacam ninhos de outras aves, saqueando filhotes e ovos. Comum na copa de florestas \u00famidas, bordas de florestas e capoeiras altas. Vive em pequenos grupos e geralmente permanece mais alto do que os outros tucanos. The upper coverts of the tail are whitish yellow, and the beak takes on a dark red color that graduates to orange. The culmen has a greenish yellow line, while a basal area is yellow (above) and blue (below), with black basal lines. The facial region is blue, while the region around the eyes is darker, violet. Iris is brown in color. They eat from fruits to vertebrates. They also attack other birds’ nests, looting chicks and eggs. Common in the canopy of humid forests, forest edges and tall stands. It lives in small groups and usually stands taller than other toucans.
