Alimenta-se de pequenos frutos silvestres. \u00c9 localmente comum no estrato inferior de florestas \u00famidas, v\u00e1rzeas e terra firme ao longo de igarap\u00e9s. \u00c9 de dif\u00edcil observa\u00e7\u00e3o, embora os machos possuam uma colora\u00e7\u00e3o bem chamativa, se escondem e permanecem calados no meio da vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n Tamanho<\/strong>: 10,5 cm. The female is olive green above and duller below, with a yellowish belly. The male has the top of the head, nape and top of the back bright red, the sides and frontal region of the head yellow-gold, and the rest of the upper parts black. It feeds on small wild fruits. It is locally common in the lower strata of humid forests, floodplains and upland along streams. It is difficult to observe, although the males have a very striking coloration, they hide and remain silent in the middle of the vegetation.<\/p>\n Size:<\/strong> 10.5 cm.
